Lunch at New York New York, 1Borneo, Kota Kinabalu

Just a penny for my thoughts before starting the real entry... If interviewer is the person who interviews and interviewee is the person who is being interviewed... Then what does the person who journeys with another is known as? Journeyer? How about the person who needs someone to journey with? Journeyee?

LOL! Just some silly thoughts...

Anyway... the story is this... I met up with my "journey-er", Mel, for lunch. After fetching her from work place, we dropped by at 1Borneo for lunch... (Yeah, teddy, that was why I turned up late - jam bahhh~~) So after strolling a while to find suitable, un-noisy location for lunch, we decided to try NYNY (New York New York). It was actually my first time there. Photos can really be a very excellent explanatory tool~~~

We were given "The New York Post" when seated at the booth... LOL! It was actually the menu... Let's see what's inside...

I think on Pg. 4 is Turner's Burgers & Hotdogs, Sandwiches on the next...

"Me want 402..." said me!

What shall we drink? Hmm... the floats seem tempting... But all sugar and fats oh?? Haha! A nerve of diet reminded me of my dieting plan... *frown* Let's see what they have next page...

A-ha!! I saw "Chocolate Heaven!" Ahh... so they said, chocs + strawberry = heaven on earth~~ "I want 1010 (Iced Strawberry Swirl with Ultra-Rich Chocolate Velvet with whipped cream)!" That sounded just soooooo delicious~~

Then came the first dish - Mel's Chunky Veggie Soup. It actually looked much better on photos. When it first arrived, personally it looked like some cucumbers floating on some clear sort of lightly-coloured water... Then only I was being educated by Mel that the green thing was zucchini lahh... LOL! I couldn't really differentiate between slices zucchini and cucumber...

This was how Mel looked like after seeing the soup~~
Then came our chocs drinks... The one with some pinkish/reddish thingy at the bottom of the mug is my strawberry swirl... trust me, it tasted G-R-E-A-T! Mel was having Iced Ultra-Rich Chocolate Velvet, which I mis-heard as Iced "Australia" Chocolate when the waitress repeated the order to us... My bad! :P

Upclose and personal on the whipped cream... Yummy!!

Mel's ham sandwich... Erm... I don't know the "real name" on the menu... But it looked promising...

Thus this happy look on Mel's face~~ Haha! Transformation~~

Now... this is my "402" T'Bacon Cheese Burger... I loved the cheese and beef and the mustard. Perfect combination I'd say! LOL! It was a promising look...

So this is the last photo before I started off with my lovely, mind-enhancing, heart-challenging, soul-searching lunch!

End of my food blogging entry for now... It was a fine meal which you can get at about RM50++ in NYNY, 1Borneo, KK. Totally american I'd say! When I have chance, I want to try that super huge burger there... LOL! After CNY perhaps!!

Till then... Have fun this weekend!

WoW Sisters' Session, 19th Dec 2008

Here's what the sisters of WoW did today... I first picked up Von Yee and Karen, then headed to Joanne's house... As all of us were hungry at 11plus, we decided to start off with Tau Sah Pia that I brought back from Kluang, Johor... Of course, we gotta say an opening prayer before meal... Thus, at the sound of "amen", we started our food fiesta~~~

(Left to right) Von Yee, Karen C and Joanne W

Me, since I was the photographer... LOL!

Checking out Joanne's chef, Mr. Jonathan Wee, in his "office" preparing cucur udang...

Actually was to ensure Von's shepherd's pie was safely in the oven~ And so the origin of shepherd's pie is definitely not as what I said just now, gals~~~ LOL! I guess it was either my mind made it up to entertain you gals, or I really had read it somewhere... Sorry for the mistake~~

The tau sah pia~

Finally... Everything, plus the one and only left for Chef Jon... We had sushi by Karen, shepherd's pie by Von, my salad... Now, now, now... Where's Joanne's???

Here it is!!!! Jon and her cucur udang with big onions~ Fresh from the kitchen!!!

Chef Jon cooling himself under the fan while starting off with dessert... Hehehe!

Now, now, now... What was it that Jon sit so far away? The fan? The girls?? NOOO... It was the tau sah pia maybe... Hahahaha!!!

Eventually Chef Jon left his "throne" and re-entered his office..... Tada!!! Chef Jon's special fried rice with cucumber...

Me with the candy given by Karen... Yummy chocs with mint flavour... Who cares for diet today?? I didn't!! Hehe!

Von Yee with blueberry flavoured candy~~

We've decided to venture into some adventures after a sumptuous meal at Joanne's place... Yups... in search of our CG retreat location... So here's what we did... Driving to Lembah Impian Country Home first...

Joanne, Karen and Von, posing for me outside the ballroom in Lembah Impian~

Von and me on the way to the poolside~

I'm reserving other photos so that my other CG members will have some anticipation of our CG retreat location~~

We've decided to take a drive down to Monfort Youth Training Centre in Kinarut after that as Joanne had been doing marketing for Monfort on its retreat centre... It's definitely lovely and I do like the tranquility that it poses when I arrived for the first time... So retreat-ish~~

So this is the building inside Monfort... I'm reserving the main entrance etc. for my other CG members' surprise~~ ^_______^

Von, Joanne and Karen at the dining hall...

My growing-up-fast "kidz" and me at the stairway leading to the dining hall~~ Gosh! Now they are in uni already!! Soon there'll be graduation... then... then... then.... (Oh! I'm thinking too much!!! LOL!)

I wonder what those three "kidz" were doing, walking so fast... Slow down, kidz!!!

Ahem!!! Von~~~~ What were you doing? Peeping into people's room???!

A sneak peak of St. Paul's chapel (on the hill)

A shot of my fast-growing "kidz" in front of the chapel

Last shot of us before driving home!

What a wonderful day! Now it is time for me to rest...

P/S: The-one-whose-name-must-not-be-mentioned said he wants meeting next week. Oh yeah, I've emailed you-know-who some of the photos.

Christmas isn't Christmas (Til It Happens in Your Heart)

This is my favourite Christmas carol since I was in Form 2, when I first heard it during our Christmas nativity skit practice... That was AGES ago... Anyway, the youtube video is presented by school children choir. Lovely angelic voices... :)

Christmas Isn’t Christmas
'till it happens in your heart,
Somewhere deep inside you
Is where Christmas really starts;

So give your heart to Jesus,
you'll discover when you do
That it’s Christmas
Really Christmas for you.

Jesus brings warmth like a winter fire,
A light like a candle's glow;
He's waiting now to come inside
As He did so long ago.

Jesus brings gifts of truth and life
And makes them bloom and grow.
So welcome Him with a song of joy
And when He comes you'll know ..... that ...

Christmas Isn’t Christmas
'till it happens in your heart,
Somewhere deep inside you
Is where Christmas really starts;

So give your heart to Jesus,
you'll discover when you do
That it’s Christmas
Really Christmas for you.

Kissed by an Angel

The best experience I had throughout these two days of caroling was the encounter with Alex, a little boy with Down's syndrome. He is like the cutest little angel that God has sent to his family, an angel with the purest heart of all. I felt the purity of his tiny heart, bursting with love for his family. I was so honoured to be kissed by him as we bade goodbye to him and his family. Thank God for that encounter, a reminder of God's glory and grace upon us, His people...

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God
~ Matthew 5:8
~

I thank God for the prayers the parents of Alex had said for Lifeliners who were present there, and I thank God for giving me such a wonderful message of just choosing to sit at the feet of Christ and listen to Him, just like what Mary did long time ago... Just to take as long as I want at His feet to listen to Him and be cleansed and renewed. I know Jesus will carry me through whatever I'm going through at this moment... Jesus, I trust in You! Amen and Alleluia to the God on High! Amen.

Snoopy's Christmas

This is one of my most loved cartoon characters though I've to admit that I never truly watched or read all of Peanuts. I love Snoopy somehow since young? LOL! Here's a lovely vidz based on the song, Snoopy's Christmas.

Love Came Down At Christmas - Jars of Clay

I love the meaning of "love came down at Christmas"... I went to search a bit and here's what I found of the origin of the lyrics...

Love Came Down at Christmas
The words and lyrics of the old carol 'Love came down at Christmas' were written by the famous poet Christina Georgina Rossetti 1830-1894). The famous poet Christina Georgina Rossetti was English and her father was also a poet, Gabriele Rossetti.

Here's the lyrics...

Love Came Down at Christmas

Love came down at Christmas,
Love all lovely, love divine;
Love was born at Christmas,
Star and angels gave the sign.

Worship we the Godhead,
Love incarnate, love divine;
Worship we our Jesus:
But wherewith for sacred sign?

Love shall be our token,
Love be yours and love be mine,
Love to God and all men,
Love for plea and gift and sign.

Here's the vidz from Youtube. This is the version sung by Jars of Clay. Listen carefully at the lyrics and enjoy reflecting with the artwork and lyrics. The vidz is beautifully drawn I'd say~~
