Ghost Hunt Anime

It is always once or twice a year, since I saved this set of anime in my HDD, that I would watch Ghost Hunt. There's always a sense of freshness of the anime, no matter how many times I watched it before this. My favourite characters are of course Naru-chan and Mai. Kinda cute.

I slowly discover that I enjoy action pack movies and suspence thrillers more often than not. The movie genre that comes second would be romance comedies. I love sci-fi movies too. The recent movie, Avatar, I would give a 5/5 if were to ask for recommendation. It is definitely a must-watch movie of the year 2009.

Alright, time to get ready for mass. Have fun! God bless!

Doraemon and the Time Machine

I'm doing some reading online when I suddenly remember Doraemon and time machine, as in the real Doraemon story. I never really knew the origin of the cartoon which has accompanied me for years during childhood and adolescent years. I guess it's never too late to find out about him...

Idiomatic translation to English:

(From right to left)

Nobita: Whoa!

Doraemon: It's me…did I surprise you?

Nobita: Wh…wh…who are you? Where did you come from? Why did you…? H…h…how did you…?

Doraemon: Don't ask so many questions at once! But that's all right. I've come to save you from a horrible fate.

I guess I'd prefer not to mention my friend as Doraemon again after knowing more of the ending of Doraemon. Hahaha! ^_______^

First Sisters CG Gathering

I'm happy to announce that last night was our very first gathering for Sisters CG! Long ago, somewhere in 2007, after lengthy discussion, the brothers decided to embark on a journey with the starting of brothers-only CG and now they are thriving! Also at the same time, the brothers had urged us, the sisters, to form relationship via a CG for sisters only, but it never materialize. After much prayers and promptings, it was finally time for the sisters to follow the example of our brothers who are journeying together in Promise Keepers, the CG for brothers only.

So far we have no name yet for this cell group - maybe in future when the time comes. Now that we had the first meetup, we must continue on with the second and so on. What's more important is to create a place safe to share, mutual support among one another - emotionally, physically and spiritually, and to work towards our goal of being a godly woman.

Last night we had fun making Christmas cards for one another. What I observed was everyone IS special and creative in her own ways. Oh my, you girls should see what's being produced - lovely, absolutely lovely Christmas cards! And I had a lot of fun, knowing that God is anointing us all through this fun ice breaking session. I pray that our post Christmas/New Year gathering will be blessed by the presence of more sisters.

For those who couldn't make it, our reflection for the weeks to come is from: Sirach 26:1-18, Proverbs 31:10-31, Colossians 3. We'll be looking at the characteristics of godly women in the next session.

God bless and Merry Christmas!

P/S: Sorry for the long silence, dear blog readers, I had been away on a vacation while attending wedding of my dear ex-housemates in Sarawak. Just got back a couple of days ago. I shall write more as Christmas draws near.

Pax et bonum...

Endangered Species in Sabah

I was doing some online reading that I found out that these are the endangered wildlife species in Sabah:

We need to play a role in conserving these for our future generation! If not they wouldn't know how these species look like. Maybe they will be categorized in the same group as the dinosaurs... Sad!! Do check out the sites for further info!

Will You Marry Me?

Haha! I wanted to post a blog entry on Proposals (and my dream proposal) but eventually Joanne talked me out of it as the outcome of our conversation pointed out that the man would have to figure out on the proposal part. Hehe!

Recently I have a couple of friends who had just gone to Bandung for a vacation. The outcome of the vacation: They are getting engaged!!!! Yes, the man knelt down and popped THE question of "Will you marry me?" and the lady beamed and answered "YES!" Hence the "craze" of proposals popped into my pea-sized brain. *chucklez*

Well, I was googling proposal stories, but I have to admit the uniqueness of the stories may not be exactly my cup of tea. But this story which I copied from About.com: Weddings is kinda sweet surprise sort of story. I believe the man in the story really has a creative brain, or should I say, used the creative side of his brain to think for the whole proposal event. Here's the story!

Dan and I had met several times before. We always had interesting, in-depth conversations about our favorite football teams (Packers for me, Bears for him), growing up in our respective cities and whatever else was on our mind. Dan was like that with everyone. However, on New Year’s I noticed something different in Dan. Maybe it was because we ran into each other more this night than any other, or because he spent more time talking to me than his friends. Whatever the reason, I’m thankful for it.

For the next three months Dan chased me. He called, emailed and asked my girlfriends about me. Because I lived in Milwaukee and he lived in Chicago we had to take baby steps. Our distance forced us to establish a strong friendship first- another blessing in disguise. For three and a half years we drove back and forth between Chicago and Milwaukee every other weekend. Neither of us took life too seriously then. We were both young and eager to experience as much as possible in life. After a while, the traveling and the scene we were in grew tiresome. We desperately needed a change, not necessarily in our relationship but in our lives. We wanted to get out of the Midwest and start over on a bigger experience.

He was given a coaching opportunity in Arizona and decided he was going with or without me. About a month later I still hadn’t given up on moving out of Milwaukee, or on my relationship. Dan hadn’t given up on us either, so I moved to Arizona. For the first time, we lived in the same state. Going from a long distance relationship to a day-to-day one was an adjustment. We had to start over and discover one another’s daily habits, routines, and quirks.

A year later we took two more leaps of faith and bought a house, and then a puppy. Everything was heading in the right direction, however, I handled our financing so I knew a ring and wedding was going to stay on my wishlist for a while.

A few weeks ago, a girlfriend insisted that I take Friday off to go out on the lake with her. Her company was shooting a commercial and needed extra people. I asked Dan to come, but he had made plans to go on a bike ride with friends.

Friday comes, and Dan leaves early in the morning. I take my suit and towel to work and a few hours later get paged to the front office. I was shocked to see my girlfriend with a HUGE smile on her face, telling me there had been a change in plans. I needed to go home, pack a bag and get to the airport.

Everything was happening so fast and to make things more confusing my friend had been instructed by Dan not to answer any questions. Once at home I find a note and a ticket in my suitcase. The ticket is to Chicago and the note has suggestions of what type of clothing to bring for our weekend and a phone number to call once I get to Chicago. He signed it, ‘see you later, love me.’

My stomach starting flipping and tears pooled in my eyes. How he had pulled something like this off – whatever this was – left me flabbergasted. To make matters more gut wrenching, I arrive at the airport to see my flight has been delayed an hour!

When I finally arrive in Chicago I call the number as instructed and minutes later am picked up by a limo. The driver was just as helpful as my girlfriend. He too had been instructed not to answer any questions. Without any guidance to this wild goose chase, I imagined a number of scenarios, none of which could have topped what was about to happen next.

The limo stops downtown Chicago. The driver pulls out my bags and points me to Buckingham Fountain. He tells me, ‘you’ll know what to do next.’ I haul my luggage around the famous Chicago landmark to find Dan looking extremely sexy. He kisses me and tells me that he couldn’t do this anywhere else but in the city we met.

He drops to one knee and asks me to marry him. After all our years together and the number of ways I imagined him proposing to me I was so nervous I could barely get out ‘of course I’ll marry you.’

He says we have to hurry because we’re already late for our dinner reservation. We rush to a hotel, change as fast as we can and walk in to find my entire family and closest friends waiting to congratulate us. I completely fell apart and couldn’t have been happier. Dan pulled off the biggest surprise of my life and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
Hope you guys enjoyed the story! God bless and have a nice day!

School Holidays

What exactly is "school holidays"? I've been coming back to my work place - a school - for the past two weeks, minus the two days I was down with cold. So after googling "holidays define" I found this really nice definition from Answers.com

n.
  1. A day free from work that one may spend at leisure, especially a day on which custom or the law dictates a halting of general business activity to commemorate or celebrate a particular event.
  2. A religious feast day; a holy day.
  3. Chiefly British. A vacation. Often used in the phrase on holiday.
Hmm... Look at definition 1 - a day free from work that one may spend at leisure... Umm... Umm... Am I spending leisure time in school nowadays? I know I'm definitely stealing some time off the schedule to blog this entry right now while waiting for my lunch companion to be ready for lunch. I had been putting off my blogging for a while since the "peak season" of multiple examinations started somewhere in September. I had time to breathe but never really time to blog. Blame it on my ancient laptop? No way, man! That laptop of mine had been the most faithful companion one could find in the whole wide world, and still couldn't find any other to replace its faithfulness to me. Thank God for the "perseverance" my laptop and I have in maintaining this relationship!!!

Back to my topic of the day - School Holidays. I shall take a vacation to Sarawak in the middle of December while attending a wedding in Sibu, but what excites me most is my friend, Vicky, is visiting me in KK prior to my trip to Kuching! I am really really excited about it. Doraemon suggested to bring her to Kundasang/Ranau (National Park and Poring) on Day 01, white water rafting on Day 02 and River Cruise or Island trip on Day 03... I wonder if Vicky would want such adventurous time?

Yay! My lunch companion is ready! Food time!
